Yes, it is going to be India’s Decade Ahead ….
During a special talk by Mr. A Gururaj, Managing Director of Optiemus Electronics Ltd, Managing Director, Optiemus Electronics Ltd (A Partner Company of Wistron) organized by Bangalore Chamber of Industries and Commerce on 7th December 2022 in Bengaluru, replying to an expert panel and industry attendees: he expressed his belief that India is poised for a decade of growth and success. As someone with over 30 years of industry experience, he has been instrumental in bringing top electronics product manufacturing companies to India and is passionate about making India self-reliant. He envisions a future where electronics products are designed, produced, bought, and sold in India and is optimistic that India will achieve over 450 billion USD$ by 2025 with the combined efforts of the government and private sectors.
The electronics industry in India has seen significant growth in the past year, with a 100% increase in electronics manufacturing services. However, there is still room for improvement as India imports 60% of its electronics components. Mr. Gururaj is bullish on the potential for fab production to create massive employment opportunities in India. Key drivers of growth in the electronics industry include mobile phones, laptops, IoT products, and the digital economy.
“To continue to meet the growing demand for electronics, Mr. Gururaj believes that skilled manpower is essential. The private sector, academia, and all stakeholders must work together to provide the talented workforce necessary for driving the development of futuristic products and emerging technologies.”
In conclusion, Mr. Gururaj is excited about the advancement in technology in India, citing examples such as the development of an electric bike from design and manufacturing and a drone that carried a liver from donor to patient. He believes that India has the potential to reach the last person in the world for a better and healthy living, and that the increase in employment opportunities in the ESDM space will be a significant contributor to this achievement. He encourages the creation of plug and play electronic manufacturing clusters to attract more investors and companies to the industry.
